Introducing The Crusader Kings II Stories Competition

Our Crusader Kings II Stories competition is now officially open! Send us your greater and weirder than life tales from Crusader Kings II between June 1, 2020 16:00 CEST and June 15, 2020 16:00 CEST. Ten winners will be selected and will get a copy of Crusader Kings III, Royal Edition, of a value of 74.99€/ 74.99$/ £57.99!

This competition is inspired by After Action Reports (AAR for short), a format beloved by our community on our forums. “But what is an AAR?” we hear you ask.

In very broad terms an AAR is a literary retrospective on a sequence of actions. Historically speaking the first AARs were written by military leaders – one of the greatest examples being the Commentaries on the Gallic War by Julius Caesar.

Within our community of players this format translated itself into long written articles in which one describes the actions of his/her rulers accompanied by complementary screenshots taken throughout the game. These articles range from the very factual to the extremely comical or dramatic.

To make it easier on you, we decided to make the format more approachable (should writing not be your strong suit). You can narrate your rulers’ stories the way you see fit: through text (with or without images attached), via a comic strip or drawings, or even with a video! We will judge your work based on these two categories: “Most Dramatic” and “Most Comical”.

You can send us your entry to this ck2-aarcompetition@paradoxinteractive.com – make sure to mention which category you are applying for! A jury composed of members of the Crusader Kings III team will select the winners and we will advertise your work on our website after the competition has ended! We will contact winners on June 22, 2020.

Check out the terms and conditions below before sending your entry!
